This child of mine played today, in the sprinklers, with other children, none of which she really knows. She wouldn't get started at first, shy, no one came up and pulled her in. I worried she would not have a good time. But later she ventured into the frey and before long I could not pull her away. And it was a blessing for me to see her play. she is too isolated. Not enough friends in the neighborhood. Not enough community. Not enough of the very things I don't have enough of either. So I don't provide very well what I can't provide for myself. Friendship, play, and community. I see the need for these things more acutely when I look at her. But we all need so much more than a house on a street where no one comes outside.

(Oh,by the way, her hair is breaded an kept well, for those of you who worry I don't know what to do with that. This picture was taken on the way to the beauty shop)

Randy, she is such a sweet child. Your words tell me how much you love her. I've read some of your earlier posts and know that you are going through a rough patch now. Hang in there. Nothing lasts forever and there will be better days ahead. I hope you are having a good day. Blessings...Mary
