We adopted a dog (Grettle) that has some issues. Sometimes, when she is making noise outside the door and wants to be let in, I'll open the door, but she is afraid to go through it. She wants to come in, and comes close, but then backs away. I'll hold the door, and coax her, and try to reassure her she can come in, but after a while, I get tired of this and shut the door, and she stays outside. I find this hang up petty and annoying. But then I can ponder my own lot in life, and I think about opportunities I sometimes have to improve it, that I don't take because I am afraid, or uncertain, or too cautious, and I can imagine God holding the door, and coaxing me, and finally getting disgusted and letting me stay outside.
