The reason we want to let go of our attachments is so we can hold onto the present moment, which is ultimately, all we really have. And that is, ironically, far more abundant than all our futures and pasts combined.

OK, why would we need to let go of the past to live in the moment? Do we not wish to hold on to the past, for reasons and wisdom pertaining to the present and future?
