Barack Obama, my choice last time, is, well, what can you say… better than the alternative, a little disappointing to progressives, perhaps a little surprising to hawks and capitalists. He, is, also, now, as President, directly responsible for murdering people. Call it what you want. Say it is in the name of National Security, or within the framework of a War on Terror. Frame it as Presidential decisions. The bottom line is that once you become President of these United States, you seem to have to kill people. Via drones, via the bombs you allow to be dropped, “or special operations”. It all boils down to blood on your hands. The decisions to kill people with machines and technology are not decisions the progressives can blame on a republican opposition. These are decisions that rest completely on the shoulders of the Commander and Chief, and Mr. Obama is making these decisions every day, and is poised to make more of them. One thing is for certain, no matter what you think of the job he has done as President. Mr. Obama, like his predecessors, has blood on his hands. That is a fate I hope to escape this life without having to suffer. It concerns me that America is the kind of a country where it is somehow inevitable that our leaders will have to kill. What does this say about us?
