There are a few things it is important to remember. Things that get forgotten easily. Like to breath with some conscious awareness. And to forgive. Over and over and over. Yourself and others. Especially yourself..., and those others that are so easy to resent. It's important to remember why to forgive. And that forgiving is as necessary as breathing. Knowing that I have to forgive and move on to be free. To be present. To have any hope at all of living some semblance of peace. Forgiving the universe for all it's cruel tricks. Forgiving fate for all it's twists. Forgiving those who you thought should have been better to you. So you can let them be, what they are, so you can be what you are. Forgiving when you want to fight and get back. Forgiving when you hate. And when you hurt. And when you are broken. There is no alternative. There is no good in vengeance. No peace in blame and bitterness. Nothing there but a swirling vortex of negative energy sucking. But when I can remember that I know better, and that I believe in surrender..., that my hope lies, not in the vortex of cynical indulgence, but in the possibilities inherent in a soul unencumbered by fight and retaliation. Remember. Remember often. And keep remembering that you have no other means to work with. Nothing better than acceptance and embrace and surrender, and being quickly rid of the bitterness. By blessing those who you are inclined to curse. By asking the universe to do for the ones you most want to spite, the things you wish it wish it would do for you.
